i see that he won championships in 97,99, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004, and as a recently new fan, i was just wondering what happened in 98 and 2000?
this may be a stupid question but yeah..

so let me get this straight in 1996 he started his career in 9th place. then the next year he was 1st so he went up a category where he was runner up, then won it the following year, then he went up another category, got runner up, then won it again the following year, then jumped to MotoGP and has won it for the past 4 years straight?
very interesting career... thankyou for clearing that up for me! can i ask, who beat him those two years?

so let me get this straight in 1996 he started his career in 9th place. then the next year he was 1st so he went up a category where he was runner up, then won it the following year, then he went up another category, got runner up, then won it again the following year, then jumped to MotoGP and has won it for the past 4 years straight? very interesting career... thankyou for clearing that up for me! can i ask, who beat him those two years? in 1998, Rossi had two rival, the japanese Harada and his fellow italian who won the title Capirossi, but i think Rossi suffered a lot of accident/crash out that caused him lost the title. in 2000, this year was belong to Kenny Robert and of course his biggest rival Biaggi. just because of Rossi's consistency to stand up on podium made him got runner-up champion
